The Under 9 Invicta Buckaroos travelled to Slough on Sunday 1st October for their first away cross-ice tournament hosted by the Under 9 Junior Jets.
The Bucks were in full strength again and accompanied by their army of loyal and vocal supporters.
The Slough rink is currently undergoing a full refurbishment, which means that the all on-ice activities are currently being run on a temporary, much smaller rink. However, temporary changing facilities and the small ice surface didn’t deter the Invicta Under 9s as they got stuck right in to their trio of games.
The Buckaroos first opponents were Streatham, followed by hosts Slough and finally Lee Valley. All 3 lines were played, with each line changing over after a 75 second shift.
Over the 3 games there was an abundance of goals from William Lake, Callum Wilson, Jacob O’Dwyer, Harry Foreman, Taylor Edwards and James Stanmore.
Charlie Duncan-Woolard in the Invicta goal made some superb saves and is loving playing 'tendy' this season, and sporting his new gloves (that actually fit).
Two Buckaroos, Matthew Rose and Xenxo Dobbs, iced for Slough Junior Jets, as they were short of players. Xenxo scored a goal for his temporary-team against Lee Valley.
Buckaroos Player of the Day went to James Stanmore and Spirit of the Day was awarded to Oliver Parker. Well done boys!

It is clear to see the improvement in the Buckaroos – both with skill and their speed over the ice! Coach Paul Wilson, is doing a grand job and the Buckaroos are loving every minute!
It promises to be an exciting season ahead.
The Buckaroos’ next cross-ice tournament is at Lee Valley on Sunday 15th October with the puck dropping for the first game at 17.15.
Let’s Go Buckaroos!!!
