The Invicta Buckaroos travelled to the Lee Valley Ice Centre on Sunday 15th October to play in their second cross-ice away tournament of the season, hosted by the Under 9 Lee Valley Lions.
The Buckaroos’ first opponents were the Slough Junior Jets. The Jets iced a full squad, as did the Invicta team. It was an exciting game which the Buckaroos dominated. There were goals aplenty and Charlie Duncan-Woolard made some impressive saves playing as the Invicta goaltender. The goals came thick and fast from Matthew Rose, Josh Fielding, Niall Khambay, whilst Oliver Parker and Callum Wilson managed a hat-trick each! The Buckaroos played well and full of spirit.
They faced the Lee Valley Lions next and Callum Wilson added another two goals to his tally for the day. The Lions presented the Bucks with a tough game, but the Buckaroos played with determination right to the end.
The Buckaroos' final game of the afternoon was against Streatham. Again, there was no shortage of goals as Josh Fielding, Oliver Parker and Callum Wilson all found the back of the net. The boys played well and are visably improving as a team with each game.
A special mention to Invicta Buckaroo player, Taylor Edwards, who iced for a short-handed Streatham team and scored goals against Lee Valley and Slough.
Spirit of the Match went to Callum Wilson and Man of the Match to Xenxo Dobbs.
