On Sunday 29th October, the Under 9 Invicta Buckaroos squad travelled to Streatham's South London ice rink for their 3rd consecutive away cross-ice tournament.
Due to other teams unfortunately having a reduced number of participants, the Bucks were able to ice two teams – the Invicta Blues and the Invicta Whites.
The first game was an Invicta in-house' match-up, as the Invicta Blues played the Invicta Whites. Matthew Rose made his debut between the pipes as goaltender for the Invicta Whites and made some astounding saves. In the opposing Invicta Blues' net, Charlie Duncan-Woolard remained continued his fine form and showcased his developing skill and ability in keeping the puck out.
The Invicta Whites were first to score with a great goal from Noah Wagg. There were plenty more goals from both teams. The Invicta Whites saw goals from Callum Wilson, William Lake and two from Rueben Yeates. The Invicta Blues goal scorers were Jacob O’Dwyer, Harry Foreman and two from Xenxo Dobbs.
The Invicta Blue’s next opponents were the Lee Valley Lions, which saw Josh Fielding and Jacob O’ Dwyer add to their score tally. The Lee Valley Lions were tough opposition, but the Blues played with their usual passion and drive.
Finally the Invicta Blues faced the home team, Streatham Jets. Again, the boys played with determination and never gave up, despite being heavily out-shot. Josh Fielding managed to register a goal for the 'Blue Bucks'..
The man of the Match for the Invicta Blues went to Charlie Duncan-Woolard and Harry Foreman received Spirit of the Match.
For the Invicta Whites, Reuben Yeates was awarded Man of the Match and Noah Wagg took home Spirit of the Match.
Well done Buckaroos!
