U9 Invicta Buckaroos Tournament Report - 27 January 2018

The Invicta Buckaroos under 9’s hosted their first home game in four months at Planet Ice, Gillingham on Saturday 27 January. The Buckaroos played their cross ice tournament with a full team against opponents the Slough Junior Jets, Streatham and Lee Valley.

The Bucks were high in spirits and faced Slough first. Aurora Dobbs made her debut as a Buckaroo and enjoyed every minute.  Harry Foreman was the first name on the score sheet as his shot found the back of Slough’s net. Slough reacted by putting two past the Buckaroos netminders and took the lead until Oliver Parker equalised with an excellent shot on target. Streatham scored their last of the first game, whilst Reuben Yeates scored two cracking goals, putting the Buckaroos ahead before the final whistle

Streatham were next to face the Buckaroos. Streatham scored some great goals but Netminders Charlie Duncan-Woolard and Matthew Rose managed to make some amazing saves.  Jacob O’Dwyer, Josh Fielding, Niall Khambay and Callum Wilson scored for the Invicta team. The Buckaroos are still chasing the elusive win against Streatham this season.

Finally, the Buckaroos played Lee Valley. Lee Valley managed to score 4 brilliant goals but undeterred the Buckaroos played passionately and concentrated on their passing.  Harry Foreman managed to score his second of the tournament as did Jacob O’Dwyer. Reuben Yeates and Oliver Parker also featured on the score sheet again! Taylor Edwards scored from just past the half way line with what can only be described as the goal of the game. The Buckaroos were totally deserved of their win.  Way to go Buckaroos!!!

Oliver Parker was awarded Man of the Match and Jacob O’Dwyer took home the Spirit of the Match puck.

Well done lads!

The Invicta Buckaroos travel to Lee Valley on Sunday 11th March. Face off 17.15! Let’s go Buckaroos!
