Three Invicta Junior Ice Hockey players have been named to their respective England Junior Teams.
Joe Webb, who plays for the Under 15 Invicta Mavericks, has been named as a reserve player to the England Under 15 Boys team.
Charlotte Davenport-Jeffery, who also plays for the Invicta Mavericks, and Ava Dell, who plays for the Under 13 Invicta Chargers, have both been named into the England Girls Under 14’s Team.
All players have been trialling for England since August and final team selections were made following an intense and gruelling camp held earlier this month at Ice Sheffield, with announcements being made the following week by the English Ice Hockey Association communications team.
The England Teams; Boys Under 13, Under 14 & Under 15 and Girls Under 14 & Under 17, will all now travel to Bratislava in Slovakia to take part in a week-long programme in April and will see them train and play select teams in a bid to replicate World Championship events, as the England national Team Development Programme tries to prepare players for Great Britain selection.
Invicta Junior Ice Hockey Club Head Coach Rob Dell:
‘It’s fantastic that we’ve got players again selected to the National Teams with others having also trialled but narrowly missed out on selection. It’s a great programme to be involved in all the players should be proud of their achievements. I’m sure those having the opportunity to travel to Bratislava will have a fantastic time and no doubt learn a lot about themselves as players and as individuals as the trip is made parent free’
